That this what we are leaving them with? They matter less than the new condo, or the neighborhood market? What programs, what recreational facilities do we have? Is your neighborhood safe enough that your children can play outside? I know mine isn't. We need change, and nobody seems to care. Sad when your more concerned with a condo complex, than the people who represent our future. Really?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28181122.post-4616716266759485302009-12-07T08:02:50.668-08:002009-12-07T08:02:50.668-08:00Can you show me an LA City councilman who behaves ...Can you show me an LA City councilman who behaves any differently? I believe the problem is in the system. Only 15 spots on the council, each representing several hundred thousand people. People and areas larger than several states. Billions in city contracts at stake and more than a few businesses willing to wine and dine them. City of LA must be broken up into manageable cities with council representing no more than 50,000 people each. Or just let each Neighborhood council elect one councilmember each. We need to try something else.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28181122.post-18103101776404493882009-12-07T01:00:09.672-08:002009-12-07T01:00:09.672-08:00The corner of 20th and Walker does not have and wi...The corner of 20th and Walker does not have and will not have an apartment or condominium building on it, thanks to Janice Hahn and her staff.

Now that might not seem to be a big deal, but go ask the neighbors in Vista Del Oro if they wanted the site of the former McCowan's market made over into a densly populated corner and I feel the great majority of them will say no.

It will be my opinion for a long time that when Janice made the statement that if she saw 10,000 signatures on petitions demanding that the current zoning would remain at Ponte Vista, she did so thinking it would never happen in a year of Saturdays. Well, over 11,000 signatures were handed to her and she could not back down on that promise, but we are still watching.

So as far as two developers go, Ms. Hahn took the side of the people.

Sadly though, Janice did not flatly dissaprove of SRHS 15 and now not only is S.P.H.S. failing, but it will have an appendix that will be in trouble when its doors open.

There is no excuse for the central city pulling L.A.P.D. officers out of the Harbor Division, and Janice did not do a powerful job stopping that from happening.

The waterfront redevelopment project lingers on with no real leadership from Ms. Hahn forcefully demanding that the city work with POLA to get work going.

I think Ms. Hahn has done enough for the private entity known as Eastview Little League. The leadership of that private enterprise let parents and kids down and Hahn and the rest of us are not to blame for the continuing woes from the 'adults' in that private organization.M Richardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08644940232494534872noreply@blogger.com
